What's New

Version 1.5.1

Your whole plate, in Apple Health

FoodieCalc now shares fiber, vitamins, and minerals with Apple Health — not just calories and macros. You can also plan meals days ahead, favorite or save any logged food straight from your diary, and select several entries to copy, move, or delete them at once. Already syncing with Health? Allow the new nutrients once to turn it on.

Fiber, vitamins & minerals in Apple Health

FoodieCalc now saves 19 more nutrients to Apple Health whenever a food you log includes them: fiber, sugar, saturated fat, cholesterol, seven minerals (calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, sodium), and eight vitamins (A, C, D, E, K, B6, B12, folate) — right alongside calories, protein, carbohydrates, and fat. Sharing is also more resilient: if you turn off one nutrient in Health, everything else you allowed keeps syncing.

Why it matters

Apple Health becomes a complete picture of what you eat, so other health and fitness apps can see your fiber, sodium, or vitamin intake too. Apple Health needs your permission for each new nutrient, so nothing extra is shared until you allow it. Entries you've already shared pick up their micronutrients once you do, with no duplicates.

How to use it

  1. 1Already syncing nutrition? Open FoodieCalc → Profile → Apple Health and tap Continue to Apple Health under “Share Fiber, Vitamins & Minerals”.
  2. 2In the Health sheet, select all (or just the nutrients you want), then tap Allow.
  3. 3Don't see that option, or turned something off earlier? Open the Health app, tap your profile picture → Privacy → Apps → FoodieCalc, and switch on the nutrients you want.
  4. 4New to Health sync? Go to Profile → Apple Health → Set Up Nutrition Export — the new nutrients are included in the same step.

Plan ahead

Log food on any day up to 30 days ahead — or copy today's meals to tomorrow. Future days in the Logs week strip are now selectable, and a planned day shows a Planned banner and a planned total.

Why it matters

Batch cooking and meal prep finally fit: scan the packaging once and plan the week, no need to keep the box around. Planned food never counts toward your rings, streaks, goal dots, or Apple Health until its day arrives — and if plans change, one tap moves the whole day to today.

How to use it

  1. 1In Logs, tap a future day in the week strip (or pick one from the date button).
  2. 2Log food as usual — or long-press an entry and choose Copy to… with a future date.
  3. 3Plans changed? Tap Move to Today on the Planned banner.

More from a long-press

Long-pressing a diary entry now offers much more: Edit, Duplicate, Move to another meal, Copy to…, Favorite, Save to My Foods, Save as Meal, and Delete. Favoriting a food you found in search also adds it to My Foods.

Why it matters

The foods you eat most become one tap away without a detour to the Library, and moving a snack to lunch no longer means dragging it across the screen.

How to use it

  1. 1Long-press any entry in Logs.
  2. 2Tap Favorite to star it, or Save to My Foods to keep it in your Library.
  3. 3Choose Move to and pick a meal to move it within the same day.

Select several entries at once

Select as many diary entries as you like — or a whole meal in one tap — then copy them to another day, move them to a different meal, save them as a meal, or delete them together.

Why it matters

Copying yesterday's breakfast to today, or tidying a busy day, now takes a couple of taps instead of one entry at a time. Copies can keep each entry's original meal.

How to use it

  1. 1Long-press an entry and tap Select Entries, or open the menu at the top left of Logs.
  2. 2Tap entries (or a meal's Select button) to choose them.
  3. 3Use the bar at the bottom to Copy to…, Move to, Save as Meal, or Delete.

Turn any log into a saved meal

Save as Meal turns one or more diary entries into a reusable meal in your Library. The Create Meal form opens already filled in, with a suggested name, so you can review it before saving.

Why it matters

The meal you actually ate becomes a one-tap log next time, with no rebuilding it item by item.

How to use it

  1. 1Long-press an entry (or select several) and tap Save as Meal.
  2. 2Adjust the name, items, or category, then tap the checkmark.
  3. 3Find it later under Library → Meals, or log it from search.
