Built for iOS 27
See it. Say it. Log it.
FoodieCalc now understands more of the ways you already think about food. Snap a meal for a reviewable AI log, ask Siri to start a food log or check your calories, and bring FoodieCalc into Visual Intelligence — all built for iOS 27 with privacy and your final say at the center.
Apple Intelligence01 · Smart photo logging
Your meal, ready to review
Take a photo or choose one from your library. After you opt in, FoodieCalc uses Apple's Private Cloud Compute models to identify the foods on your plate, suggest portions, and prepare a structured log. Packaged foods get a barcode-first check for exact product data before AI is considered.
A photo becomes a useful starting point instead of a blind guess. Every item stays editable, low-confidence details are called out, and nothing reaches your diary until you review it and tap Log.

Nothing is saved until you confirm.
02 · Siri & App Intents
FoodieCalc is ready for Siri
Say “Siri, log food in FoodieCalc” and Siri asks what you ate, then opens the same review-first Quick Log flow. You can also ask how many calories you have left, check how your goals are going, or log a glass, bottle, or your own water amount by voice.
Start a log while cooking, walking, or holding a grocery bag. Food still opens for review; calorie questions answer immediately, and an exact water amount can be logged without interrupting what you're doing.
03 · System intelligence
Discover FoodieCalc in Visual Intelligence
Point Visual Intelligence at food — or select food in a screenshot — and FoodieCalc can identify matching results directly in the system experience. Tap a result to continue in FoodieCalc's familiar review flow.
Food logging can begin where the food already is, without searching for the app first. Identification happens on device for this system handoff, and saving remains a deliberate choice inside FoodieCalc.
Identified on device04 · Hydration
Hydration, made personal
Glass and Bottle are now joined by “My Amount,” a third one-tap water preset you define. Water can sync both ways with Apple Health, so drinks logged by FoodieCalc or another connected app contribute to the same daily total. Siri can log your presets too.
Your actual bottle or cup is always one tap — or one request — away, and the hydration ring stays consistent across FoodieCalc, its widgets, and Apple Health without counting the same drink twice.
05 · Flexible targets
Different days. Different goals.
Give any weekday its own calorie and macro targets while every other day keeps your usual goal. Set a higher training-day target, a different rest day, or a weekend plan without replacing the goal that works for the rest of your week.
Your targets can finally follow your real routine. Changes apply from the day you save them, so FoodieCalc never rewrites how a past day was judged.
The FoodieCalc approach
Intelligence with boundaries
Voice and typed Quick Log continue to use the model on your device. Meal photos use Apple's Private Cloud Compute because its larger model is more reliable for complex plates; FoodieCalc explains this before the first request and never hides the alternatives when Smart Mode is unavailable.
Apple states that data sent to Private Cloud Compute is used only to fulfill the request, isn't stored, and isn't made accessible to Apple. FoodieCalc adds another boundary: AI prepares the draft, but you decide what enters your nutrition history.
- 01Understand
Apple models prepare a structured draft.
- 02Verify
You inspect every food, portion and source.
- 03Choose
Only your confirmation writes to the diary.
Start with what feels natural
Camera, voice, or a tap.
FoodieCalc 1.5.0 gives you more ways in without changing who stays in control.
